HUBERT VERSTRAETEN

Brussels-based jewellery designer Hubert Verstraeten has always developed his own processes. Since coming on to the scene in the early 1990s, Verstraeten has developed numerous series, all exploring themes of interaction, perceivable transition, time, movement, attraction, and exploration.

Hubert uses techniques from serial production (3D, electro-erosion, injection moulding) and contemporary plastic materials such as polycarbonate and aramith.

His transitional Multiple Rings are constructive, novel and above all human. In circular or square form, the attraction of these steel rings is the rings is the way they articulate, the interplay of opening and closing.  A ring and a play-thing.

Hubert is probably best known for his Tamawa brand, jewellery, objects and accessories, exclusively made of mini colourful billiard balls.
