The hallmarks of Günter Wermekes’s jewellery are minimalist geometry, precise proportions and a purposeful absence of decoration. This is how he intensifies the impact of the materials, their symbolism and their spatial presence. In 1990 Günter Wermekes was the first designer to present a complete jewellery collection made of stainless steel and diamonds. In addition to jewellery he also designed innovative watches, door handles, trophies, sculptures and urban spaces. He received various awards such as the Design Prize of North-Rhine Westphalia, the Platinum Design of the Year 1994 Award and the RedDot Award for high design quality. His works can be found both in public and private collections.
